Title: What is a TAUT BAND meter ? ( Analog multimeters )
Post by: Kiriakos GR on November 03, 2012, 10:02:56 PM
Type of construction for meter movement, often used in volt-ohm-milliammeter (VOM), where the moving coil and pointer is suspended by a metal band (taut-band) instead of using the pivot and jewel design plus spring.

Taut-band meters typically have a smaller meter resistance, because a smaller coil can move the pointer upscale.
