Mark there is nothing to do about offense.
I have shown full cooperation in this game of discovering the scope.
Personally I am using the scope in it full capacity of sampling, this is why I selected it.

I would feel angry if it was not delivering the max of their specifications.

Thanks for the info.  :)

Yes its a lovely fast box  ;D   and I am very happy with it, but INSTEK are trying to solve issues at the 4 CH models,
and the latest firmware messed up the triggering.

I am in contact as we speak with their engineer Mr. Chang.
What makes me feel good is their speed at releasing firmware updates. ;)

Mark I have one last question for you, if you set your DS2000 at 1K does it jump high to 80,000 wfms/s.

All that I need is just a Yes or No.
Thanks.

The Rigol doesn't have a 1k sample length setting.

I posted all of it's measured speeds at every memory setting already in this thread here.

If you want to do a close comparison, measure the Instek with the AUTO (1MPts) record length between 50ns - 5ms (where they share the same sampling rate) - then look at how those speeds are against the Rigol with 1.4MPts (Rigol should be slower).

Latest 1.17V firmware update made changes to help file regarding sort memory setting.

Now GW Instek restored their public image, but it did take some time.  :)

The mini review of the GDS-2102A is today available at the ITTSB main website, it is definably an interesting read for electricians.  :)
