Title: SAFETY WARNING: Mastech MS8218 multimeter underrated fuses
Post by: Kiriakos GR on October 05, 2012, 03:52:05 PM
Under a recent video review (2012)  posted by Martin Lorton,  I have personally see that at the part two of this review, and especially in just some frames of it .... it can be clearly visible, that this model is using a lower in the voltage specification 630mA Fuse.
Instead a 500V one it uses a 250V !!

FOR YOUR SAFETY INSPECT YOUR METERS AND REPLACE THE DANGEROUS FUSE with a proper one.

My personal comments about my likes or dislikes about this meter as model,  have no value when it comes down to SAFETY and the CAT III 600V rating.

My personal suggestion will be to inspect every new budget priced meter if it has installed the proper fuses before using it.
