Post by: Kiriakos GR on August 23, 2015, 09:06:34 PM
I thought as good opportunity to share this information bellow mostly by the use of pictures.
This is a LCD backlight module which has a peculiar way at getting powered.
The detail that makes the difference is that those extra pads is an option that it manufacturer though, so him to offer at other product designers a portion of freedom when they designing their own products.

Inside there is two Led and them possibly connected in parallel, and the tiny PCB at the back is there to offer options about direct soldering over a PCB due sort jumper wires.
While some one will though that by having the pads as for example 1~4 DC positive and 5~8 DC negative it would be enough, this Chinese manufacturer made and all four pairs of pads them to have reversed polarity too.

If you ever come close to such a module, the pictures bellow will assist you about it polarity chart. ;)
