There is one in house rule that every full size meter will have it own home.  ;D
One clear screen protector is another planned mini upgrade for it.

Sure a screen protector is useful. You can take a mobile screen protector and craft it in the size of meter's screen.

What I usually do is to find the actual size from a mobile phone or game machine, or at list to find one with correct the one dimension and to shorten it by cutting only the one edge.

Those clear screen protectors are not easy to trim.
