Title: Keysight Handheld Meter Logger - How to enable Voice out - at data logging
Post by: Kiriakos GR on August 11, 2021, 01:11:38 AM
Voice out -> Unfortunately this does not operate out of the box.

The windows PC it should have installed ( you will do that ) the Microsoft package named as Speech SDK 5.1 SpeechSDK51.exe
This is x86 software which installs with out issues even at 64bit systems.

We are talking here about the engine of Microsoft Narrator Narrator is a screen reader in Microsoft Windows. Developed by Professor Paul Blenkhorn in 1999, the utility made the Windows operating system more accessible for blind and visually impaired users.

Win 7 and later operating systems does have this installed.
After the installation of the Microsoft package, then you start  Keysight Handheld Meter Logger, and activate the Voice out due the settings menu and click save button.

And eventually it will work.  :)

The practical advantage, you do not need to keep your eyes on the screen as the measurement will be announced due your computer speakers.

Few more tips.  :)

If voice out this did not work right away, just change the delay time as shown at the picture above, in most cases this will activate the voice out engine.

All Microsoft packages named as SDK, they include tools for developers.
You do not have to use them, but its good to know that they are there.

In my case,  Keysight Handheld Meter Logger, this activated voice out at highest sound quality with out user interference.  :)

TTSAppVB.exe  this is the GUI that you may use to explore all available Voices and or sound quality settings in your PC, and do not worry of changing settings, there is no permanent change by using the Speak button.   ;D

TalkBack.exe this will activate windows speech recognition wizard, I did not follow this route (making any changes), as there is no need to do that.
