There was no prediction from APC so SUA1000XL & SUA750XL to receive firmware updates due USB or Serial cable.
From the few traces over the internet, the SUA1000XL for the American market this were shipped with 631.3.D
My own European SUA1000XL this came with 631.3.I

It is unfortunate that APC does not offer any more UPS at medium wattage with XL specification, extended run-time due external battery packs.
Those models were designed to carry beefy heatsinks and high performance active cooling (an powerful DC fan).

Beware:
The use of regular model with external battery pack, this is a huge mistake.
UPS electronics will overheat, UPS will eventually fail.
