This topic comes to answer the question, of what is more modern home appliance with lowest consumption as load for a Digital power meter analyzer.

All answers comes from the market of mobile phone charger, Gallium nitride (GaN), and this is know since the year 2022.

45W USB-PD Type-C reference design = Low no-load standby input power < 30 mW
65W USB-PD Type-C reference design = Low no-load standby input power < 65 mW

And also another modern concept in on the way, Low no-load standby input power ZERO Watt.
In theory this is possible, when the charger (PSU), this can detect that nothing is plugged at it output.

About a year ago, Seasonic gave to me as a gift, one 65W USB-PD Type-C  charger PSU.
Product model: C650NXXAFC-EU
UP/N W065RP23P
Non of these codes are known to search engines, and I cannot find any no-load standby input power specifications.

Today I did challenge the most sensitive Plug-in power meter in my lab.
And this measured:
238 V
10 mA
PF 0.040
0.07 Watt ( 70 mW)   ;)

Seasonic C650NXXAFC-EU
weight 90 grams
Dimensions 31x31x61.78mm

XIOMI BHR4499GL similar charger, this is not identical, its similar but this has 0.3W no-load standby input power specifications.

(Infineon Technologies is the one whom developed 65W USB-PD Type-C reference design = Low no-load standby input power < 65 mW)

65W GAN USB-C PD charger - Blown two 400mA HRC fuse - HIGH Inrush current
« Reply #1 on: October 12, 2024, 02:59:10 PM »
Today I am somewhat in tears.  :P  ( approximately 15 Euros loss )

I did succeed destroying two of these damn expensive 1000V - 400mA HRC fuse's within 10 minutes.
I was after a procession current measurement by using my best HH multimeter, at this 65W GAN USB-C charger.

The problem was that I could not foreseen and or predict, the unseen enemy,  and this is pulsing PSU Inrush current.
I did connect the load at mA range of my DMM, and upon power up, the DMM was not measuring anything.

I thought that the fuse it might was burned from older accident, and replaced it with a new.
And it was burned again ....

Over the past 12 years, I have never thought that DMM mA input this is in danger due pulsing PSU Inrush current

The solution this is a DIY special harness that will include a power switch, this acting as sort-circuit between DMM current input terminals.
Yes, you never make such a though, prior dealing with the specific application which turned in to a challenge.

Now I have to go at the drawing board, and to find out of how to design such a gadget ..
Inrush current protector for DMM inputs.
