Title: Electrical arising issues under heatwave recorded due APC PowerChute Smart-UPS
Post by: Kiriakos GR on August 06, 2021, 09:42:05 AM
APC PowerChute this is dedicated software monitor of Smart-UPS made by APC  :)

Extended heatwave will force consumers to do more aggressive use of electricity mostly in favor of cooling.
Air conditioning here is great evil, imagine 50000 units in a city of 100000 people to switch on and off, almost simultaneously.
AC Voltage level will start getting instant low values, and the problem this is invisible until be recorded due a UPS unit.

APC SUA1000XL this my main UPS unit for several years.
Due to heatwave and 34C ~ 35C indoor, this activates it own DC fan at least 20 times a day, even with out occurrence of electrical issues, just because it feels warm. :)

This morning it started to record frequent AVR Boost events, this is normal when incoming ACV this seems to temporarily sag.
An quality UPS device this including quality software, it is a product that offers a great user experience, and an important tool if you are managing a single or several UPS units.

I did take few screenshots as souvenir.  ;)
(The third is large, you better download it for a better review.)

Nice unit you got there. What’s the threshold value of ac line input voltage alarm?

One picture equals to 1000 words, but now I am thinking to lower down the sensitivity at medium.
Threshold lower input level, it is already set at the lowest point.

The most troublesome day it did pass, but I though to setup my own dedicated three phase monitor. :)

They are three U1272A probing mains, and results are displayed at my latest gift gadget the VFD 1100 (7" Vodafone phone & tablet).
Due this opportunity I did also install Keysight Handheld Meter Logger at my fresh installation of Win7 Pro 64bit  for detailed data logging. 8)

Agilent Bluetooth modules with the specific tablet, they can operate up to 12 meters as max distance, and this is good news about this additional benchmark :)
