Post by: Kiriakos GR on September 08, 2022, 01:42:09 PM
Today I am showcase heritage that I get from my father as he died at 1985, at age of only 45 years old.
He was a freelancer cars electrician, the best in town, and all analog meters in his ownership was had housing made of bakelite.

This Neuberger DC Ammeter 25A, it was used as portable ammeter for occasional tests.
I did find it will wires attached and safe guarded it over the years.
Now at September 2022, that is 50 years later,  I will finally use it as intended, an installed panel meter.   ;D

Here is a brother model, different dimensions than my own meter.
This appear as square version.

First picture: Identical series with my own, different model, product date unknown.

Second picture: other ammeter, identical mechanism with my own, product inspected 20 / 11 / 1969     8)

Last picture, Neuberger spare frame, there is four clips, in case that you think of total disassembly of such a meter.

Looks like that permanent markers of 1969 was not a mature technology  ;D

This Neuberger appears to have the bad habit about not adding polarity markings for the wires.

Yes I did notice that, and here is a picture from my verification tests of this meter.

Bellow 5A this is very insensitive, but at 8A load test this seems spot on.  ;)

This ammeter comes from a good home, they was manufacturing basic and special purpose analog meter.
So far I have nothing to stress this up to 25A for a quick test.
But soon I will know of how well it does the job.
