Title: FLUKE 8846A Review of ADC Noise with TsDMMViewer as Benchmark !!
Post by: Kiriakos GR on October 07, 2020, 06:05:57 PM
Ts-DMMViewer this is Data logging software which I did helped significantly so this to support SCPI commands for FLK8845 / FLK8846 / FLK45.

But the Japanese developer later on, he did extended compatibility list of benchtop DMM at:

Agilent 34401A
KEYSIGHT (Agilent) 34405A
KEITHLEY 2000
KEITHLEY 2015
ADVANTEST R6441B
and others

In summary nowadays  Ts-DMMViewer this is a software capable to record and we to compare measurements of all those multimeter even regarding ADC Noise performance too.

In the past two days I am exploring my own FLUKE 8846A regarding ADC noise at 100mV DC | all filters On | Input with Short plug | test duration 24 hours.
 8) I am extremely happy to report recorded noise at the single digit of Microvolts. (One microvolt is equal to 1/1,000,000 of a volt)

But this time I will challenge our forum members to engage FIRST with such a testing and then I will post screen shots and details of my own research.

Its finally time so all of us to find the truth, of how Noiseless they are our bench-top multimeter.

Never before existed such an opportunity.

Not an owner of Bench top DMM yet, but it seems than even at 2025 there is no Chinese Mainland competitors, them able to challenge FLUKE 8846A performance characteristics.   8)

This topic standing now for four years, and no one accepted and engaged, with this challenge.

Ts-DMMViewer software, this support today an very extended list of measuring instruments.

Other than a good measuring instrument and the software, the user will also need also a reference DC voltage source.

Cheap eBay DC voltage sources, they do-not meet necessary quality standards for such high-end testing process.
They do not have enough stability about them to challenge, one DMM with over a million of counts as display resolution.

Be a Volts-nut today ( calibration enthusiast ),  this is an expensive sport.  :)
