Title: The FRAUD at USB 2.0 extension cables this begin by the use of tinned copper
Post by: Kiriakos GR on September 28, 2025, 09:07:47 AM
I have waste so far several days by performing web search so to discover Premium  USB 2.0 cable extension.
And I find only unknown manufacturer products, and or cables that they belong at the category of trash.

Such trash they circulate at all computer stores, these trading USB 2.0 cables in Europe.

The manufacturing scam this begins by the description of tinned copper.
The use of Tin, this instantly increases actual copper wire resistance, the customer gets more Tin than Copper.  :P

Second step of the FRAUD, they use aluminum Braid shield instead of copper.
Soldering over aluminum this is not possible, there no chance for an easy repair at the event of USB 2.0 extension cable this requiring USB connector exchange / replacement.

Third step of the FRAUD, all copper strands they are made by recycled copper, this is not copper any more, but an Alloy this including copper particles.
This has high electrical resistance, and poor mechanical behavior, strands these failing apart if you bent them at 90 degrees, and restore them back at 0 degrees angle.

I will name this FRAUD as of mainly Chinese origin.

Because I have proofs that the Taiwanese cable makers, they are not involved.
But here we have a new problem, cable makers from the USA, Taiwan, and or Europe, their products are out of reach or invisible, at mainstream market of computer accessories.

There is an import of Chinese cables in Europe under the brand Nedis, they are participants of this SCAM Fraud at USB Cables.
