In the past two weeks, I did perform an technical investigation over the web in favor of the Japanese IKEA LADDA NiMH.
I did succeed to trace down the source of these Japanese batteries, and I did find facts and relative documentation at FDK Japan.
IKEA LADDA (IKEA Charge NiMH product series), this is actually latest Japanese production of batteries these manufactured by including a percentage of recycled material.
The use of recycled material at battery manufacturing this has tradeoffs, the Japanese its well known that they are masters at handling raw materials, and them to deliver a good quality product.
Most known for centuries Japanese skill, this is mastering the manufacturing of any of sort of metals, and the creation of alloy with special properties.
In a similar manner, they use today recycled material of Nickel metal, for the formation of Green batteries.
As hobbyist digital photographer since 2002, I am using Semi Pro equipment from OLYMPUS Japan.
I am from the first ones whom adopted the use of Sanyo Eneloop, and I am familiar of their potentials.
June 2021, I did buy BK-3MCCE-BBE 1900mAh AA pack of 8, so these to replace my older pack of Eneloop, which these lost their peak performance.
Nowadays I have developed a new curiosity, and this is to explore the Japanese production of Green batteries.
I am seeking a new experience, I wish to discover the limits of second best NiMH chemistry.
I am currently full of negative energy about the Chinese NiMH production, at 2025 90% of it this is plain trash.
Today 24/10/2025, I did order from IKEA central warehouse in Greece, an significant amount of LADDA NiMH AAA 750mAh & AA 1900 mAh.
Two months ago, I did begin the assembly of one mid-range computerized battery capacity tester.
My lab this is full of special and high precision measuring equipment, with this latest addition of precision battery capacity tester for very small loads, I feel now 100% ready to explore my new targets.
IEC testing of 9V PP3, and of many more battery types.
Feel free to bookmark this article, so and you to have a chance to read relative technical content, from some one who is not a hobbyist.
About me, I am loaded with enthusiasm, and other than batteries I did buy the only electrical gadget than I can relate with from IKEA. :)
An USB LED lamp with a funny name ( JANSJO ) ( 702.912.32 ). 8)
Stay tuned, an interesting technological journey will start soon!
As I do expect a quantity of 32 AAA (750 mAh) batteries ( 905.098.19 )
Plus the quantity of another 12 AA (1900 mAh) batteries. ( 005.098.14 )
Unfortunately the 2450 mAh, this is currently unavailable as WEB-BUY, and the nearest IKEA this is a very long away from my base.
In the positive side of things, my AAA and AA batteries, they will be from freshest available stock at IKEA central warehouse in Greece.

Wow this is an oversized order 8)
So the new plan is having a fleet of Japanese NiMH ;)

This is bad news for e-shop.gr, no more Chinese Toshiba Alkaline for Kiriakos. ;D
I will simply add the link, of Kiriakos detailed report for this Charge series.

Oversized order arrival 8) IKEA.GR Athens -> Central Greece. 780 Grams of batteries ;D
I am extremely pleased by inspecting the production date of my batteries.
They are year 2025 production, and they were imported from Japan approximately five to six months ago. 8)
I did take several photographs, only of high importance details, for us experts.
I go my parcel from a lockers point (Box Now Service), the damn door this was not opening-up, by the third attempt I did succeed to get my parcel. :P
The electrical testing and relative results, this will take some time.

First inspection of my AA 1900 LADDA this were performed by my ANSMANN Energy check LCD.
All twelve AA batteries they measured 80% charge level at 1.28V .
And all seems well balanced!
Charge level of unused batteries, this is not a rock solid information so us to judge if product specifications these are true or false.
We know nothing of previews shipping and storage conditions details.
I have not see yet, any shipping container this moving batteries, this having an active Air condition, so the batteries to retain factory charging with out loss due overheat.
And therefore, we should give them as first step, a fresh good charge, and then their monthly discharge rate, this will begin to look as valid.
Keeping the batteries stored, in a cold and dry place, these are not plain words, its our own responsibility.

Nice to see that your first web-buy from IKEA this when trouble free.
You got truly fresh batch, they changed also product packaging.
Thanks to your photographs, many consumers they can now identify new products, by a blink of the eye.
They are many scammers at eBay and Amazon, selling them double the price.
Will IKEA bring stock, also from the AA 2450mAh?

Will IKEA bring stock, also from the AA 2450mAh?
I did ask them, they are totally unaware, there is nothing scheduled.
All that they know, this is stock quantity available per shop in Greece.
About my batteries, also the AAA one pack that tested, this has excellent balancing, 80% charge at 1.28V
I did add all my AA at my Energy 16, for a first top up.
I wish to measure accurate internal resistance.
Energy 16 this started Refreshing mode, LED lights started blink RED and GREEN every two seconds.
Charge sequence started four minutes later, all RED.
Approximately 20 minutes later, the charger switched to trickle.
I will leave then over night at trickle = gentle top up.

This topic gets alive again .... :)
In the past three days, I did perform three complete Charge / Discharge cycles, by following FDK datasheet instructions.
These 750mAh batteries, they are equal to FDK HR-4UTG product code, long description = Dry Cell Compatible Model, Long Life Type.
FDK HR-4UTG this is listed as:
Nominal 800 mAh
Minimum 750 mAh
IKEA LADDA if this had it own datasheet, then it would be listed as:
Nominal 750 mAh
Minimum 700 mAh
At my own testing I did use four AAA these be connected in series at discharge mode.
They were charged individually, by latest technology of super smart charger.
This using variable DC Current pulses, 120mA for charging , 30 mA as top up pulse.
This using five charging patterns, with ultimate goal, the batteries to never heat up when charging.
First cycle result: 734 mAh
Second cycle result: 743 mAh
Third cycle result: 746 mAh
The capacity improvement, this is only 1.6%, but the actual goal, this was for me to verify the actual capacity.
And this it is verified, as the latest LADDA 750 mAh, they are just 0.5% lower in capacity than their label.
FDK Corporation advice, for accurate measurement of battery internal resistance, this is to be performed at fourth charging process.
And the batteries they should be removed for four hours from the charger.
And this is my next task, so to perform.

Hmmm I am going to repeat this last test, for one more time.
The battery holder for four cells, this was a find coming from old an PlayStation video-game.
Inside there was installed an reverse polarity protection diode.
I am unaware of how much of a difference this can make, at battery capacity measurement?
But while battery resistance measurements in the form of battery pack, they are not of importance to me.
My new fixed battery case, this will now work as I would expect. :)
I am not going to delete my older (attempt) data, its interesting even as proof of in what degree a diode this can alter my test results. ;D

Final AAA results ...
At my forth test, I did see 16mAh total increase, but I did not gave four hours rest at the batteries after charger removal.
And therefore, I will subtract 4mAh due fresh charged batteries, and I will accept as final capacity measurement the quantity 758mAh.
Final conclusion, IKEA this requested or agreed to distribute AAA batteries of 750mAh capacity, and indeed this is of what our money will buy and get. :)
Next verification, this is internal battery resistance in 24H from now.

Due this Blog post, I do declare as complete the evaluation of LADDA 750mAh.
My four samples again, six hours after charger removal.
No1 1.4268V ~~~ 33.5 mOhm
No2 1.4290V ~~~ 32.8 mOhm
No3 1.4308V ~~~ 32.3 mOhm
No4 1.4277V ~~~ 30.1 mOhm
FDK ... Approx. Internal Impedance at 1kHz 20゚C = 40mΩ
Local test performed at 18C this might justify a bit lower internal resistance of 32.8 mΩ as average. :)
Measured accuracy +/_ 3%

IKEA this did not restock it AA 2450 mAh, at the same period with the other battery products.
This product has fresher production date of 25/07/2025
