EN IEC 62368-1, is the globally harmonized safety standard for Audio/Video (AV) and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) equipment.
European Norm
Among the electrical inspections:
Electric Strength (Hi-pot): Verifies insulation integrity. In the latest edition, basic insulation test voltage increased to 2500 Vdc, while reinforced insulation decreased slightly to 4000 Vdc.
Capacitor Discharge: Ensures residual voltage on plugs drops to safe levels (<60V for ordinary persons) within 2 seconds after disconnection.
Touch Current: Measures the current that could flow through a person touching the enclosure.

While this fresh Safety standard, this aiming primarily manufacturing sector, electrical appliances product design, I got surprised by this Capacitor Discharge electrical charge limits (testing).
At commercial electrical test and measurement equipment, there is not any known to me automation, this measuring or testing accumulated electrical energy at the side of a Mains plugs.
EN IEC 62368-1 of 2024, Safety standard, this is now active for two years of time.
My question is, were is the test equipment for it?
All EN-IEC standards they are sold for a price, and there must be offered details regarding actual testing, that we consumers, we do not have access yet.
