Hioki DT4282 / DT4281 DMM both are all ready for over ten years in the market.
And a few users of used meters, they reported calibration issues at resistance range's.
When feedback over internet this is delivered due amateurs users, by 99% this includes or contain errors of judgement.
Long story in sort version, here it is a recent sample of Hioki DT4282 calibration report ( Year 2024 ).
https://www.scribd.com/document/731964245/001E-160839316-HIOKI-DT4282-MULTIMETER-only-pinaco (https://www.scribd.com/document/731964245/001E-160839316-HIOKI-DT4282-MULTIMETER-only-pinaco)
This clearly describe ... Upper limit ... Lower limit .. and measured value ( calibrator this used as input).
The point of my article this is assisting you, about you performing an realistic evaluation of your DMM measuring ranges.
By the same manner that HIOKI will evaluate you DMM calibration in to their labs.
One useful tip extracted by this sample of calibration report, lowest resistance value in use, so you to benchmark the 60 Ohm range, this is 20 Ohm.
Actual documentation for Hioki DT4282 / DT4281 accuracy specifications, they include a portion of counts that the user he should add in consideration.
Common user error this is the expectation, that digital display will read a perfect 0.000 even by the use of a short plug.
While the proper use of short plug this is to use REL function in order to zero the lower Ohms range.
No my article title this is not misleading.
HIOKI this will never share the actual adjusting process with any third party.
Even if adjusting process was escaping to the open, with out of you having the super expensive IR to USB communication kit? you would be again in the same boat = unable to use the information.
From my point of view, this article is here so to save you money, by not activating HIOKI product support with out a good reason. :)
Note No 1: On top of ITTSB forum, there is a banner, this working as a permanent reminder, accuracy specification = reading +/- % with +/- Counts ( ADC error ).
When I received my DT4282 in Greece, at calibration inspection, DC range with input of 10V DC , the reading was 10.001 V
While at all my other HH DMM instruments, their reading was at 10.000 V
This difference does not measure up as calibration error. ;)
Note No 2: REL function this helps zeroing any pair of test leads, HIOKI made ones, along of third party test leads.

Here I will upload an useful reminder from the side of Agilent.
Because Human Intelligence this seems frequently forgetting such details, and repeating the same false assumptions.
