Title: Keysight U1272A VS Fluke 289 Both capable for Low resistance measurments?
Post by: Kiriakos GR on October 14, 2026, 03:39:52 PM
The problem with product reviews made by unqualified video Bloggers, they do stay at the surface of measuring system presentation.

Keysight U1272A this become my Top favorite, also due it 30 Ohm as lower measuring range.
Nowadays I asked AI , so to discover if there is any close competitor, and I got the response in favor of Fluke 289

Fluke 289 this has 50 Ohm range, but it differentiates at the applications that it can be used.
Fluke 289 this delivers a source current of 10mA, while the U1272A this delivers source current of 1mA.

The quick verdict:

Fluke 289 low resistance applications =  High-power industrial windings / contact relay resistance

Keysight U1272A low resistance applications = Low-voltage sensitive electronics / PCBs

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Naturally U1272A this is younger, fresher, it can get also in the motor windings measurement and at contact relay resistance.
While the Fluke 289, this is considered now as dangerous for Low-voltage sensitive electronics / PCBs.

In conclusion.
In our world we are surrounded by systems designed in a different time.
In our world, they are few clueless people talking about industrial grade multimeter, without them having any experiences of their own.
In our world, the decision maker it should be the educated consumer.
And ITTSB Europe it does just that, I am educating you.   ;)
