Title: Fluke 771 Milliamp Process Clamp Meter
Post by: Kiriakos GR on November 06, 2012, 05:07:12 PM
Not that new as product, but very useful for process control.

One of the good things by running the ITTSB is that I am becoming more and more familiar with problems and products which helps as solutions.  :)

Yes, the Fluke process clamps look pretty nice. I am not aware if any of the Agilent clamps have at least a mA-% scale available. Just clipping on a wire and checking the output on a control system looks tempting, but I have never been in the need for that.
I just received my Calibrator today and go through the Manual. A lot to learn and I had never the ability to play around on a process line or so. Maybe I'll check for some old 4-20mA transmitters/converters on ebay to play around..... I still have a Siemens Logo PLC which I could use to "tune" our Oven for powder coatings ;)

I received today, an very sweet offer for a used Fluke 771.

But this meter its very limited for anything else other be a Process Clamp Meter.
0~99mA Max
30V  Max

Clamp join breakage, this happens too often, and there is a huge pile of relative complains at FLUKE Corp website.
Clamp cover, this is formatted by fiberglass material, this makes it fragile on impact.

2722971 FLUKE spare clamp, this is extremely overpriced.

So far I am unable to say, if careless handling this is the major issue which generates these complains.
And or its FLUKE fault, the delivery of this not that protective holster.

If I do consider 0095969349697 EAN/GTIN as the American and European revision.
Then FLUKE silently changed product exterior for a third time.

The change this happen somewhere after the year 2024.
Some one within FLUKE, he thought that by replacing engraved text with plain symbols, this is somewhat cost effective at production stage.

The second change,  this is that production location this is now engraved and clearly presented.
While the old trick was, that Made in China text,  this was only printed at the carton box, since 2006.

First revision this is considered, the US/EU 2006~2024
Second revision, this is the 771, this manufactured for the market of China.
And this latest change, it makes sense this be described as third.

Here are High-res photographs of latest changes.
