Ansmann MaxE 9V 280mAh NiMH

Neither AI can assist in order it, to deliver the answer in the question, of when this product become first available?

Back in time Ansmann did a major mistake at MaxE 9V 300mAh NiMH, this cell its much larger in dimensions than the standard 9V Block.
I still have one my self, its an old granny now, internal resistance at several ohms, interesting enough it has fallen at half capacity but its still usable.
MaxE 9V 300mAh its bulky, for use in a LCR or multimeter, its a pain to install, and a greater pain to remove it for charging.

About MaxE 9V 280mAh, Ansmann this is totally silent.
No fresh datasheet available.
No press release.
They have not even advertise the product packaging, so us to have something to see.  :P

The answer of why MaxE 9V 280mAh NiMH, this shown in the market, this found in the USA by my self.
The most popular professional wireless microphone of the American SHURE, this could not use the bulky MaxE 300mAh.
Ansmann smashed their face in the American market, and approximately at October 2019 they presented the thinner version of MaxE 280mAh.

I am not implying that this product is bad, I am seriously thinking buy eight of them for my workshop.
But ...
MaxE 9V 280mAh this is a plain text description, actual product appearance, this does not have MaxE logo.
The claim of Low Self Discharge, this cannot be verified by any documentation.

Ansmann management in Germany, this does not enjoy nowadays much of love from within European union distributors.
Ansmann open up to America by them using a lower pricing policy.
Ansmann did use Amazon, as a tool for direct sales within in EU.
They are acting as True Chinese business men with a broken compass, and with out plan.

From the other hand, we have genuine Chinese business men, they have invade in the German market, with the offering of retail priced with VAT ... 3.5 Euro for 9V 250mAh regular NiMH.
And the German consumers they do not touch them and they do very well.

And we have also an a third wave in Germany, of several tiny Chinese brand, these using a European front man.
They try to gain sales by endless price war, while the products they lucking certifications and documentation.
Again the German consumers they do not touch such products and they do very well.

Newest backdoor for importation of low end Chinese batteries, this is Poland
These are the worst distributors,  they pretend be manufacturers, they do in house manufacturing of datasheets, their cooked documents these lucking critical information's for electronics and electricians engineers.
And therefore such cooked datasheets they cannot fool any one.  ;D

About me, I am still undecided about my final purchase,  one thing I can sign it, I will not give my money that easy to anyone.

I have emailed Ansmann today (Sunday 12), as I wish to receive their word too.

If they deliver crystal clear answers? then I will become a buyer of their products at 2025.

I will give them three days as response time = until 15 of October.

I have starting to believe, that the youth that Ansmann hiring temporarily, so them to answer emails, they are totally uneducated regarding the English language.

Just because this 280mAh it is a fresh product, first time listed at geizhals.de at 25.06.2025.
https://geizhals.de/ansmann-nimh-akku-9v-e-block-280mah-1325-0001-a3523568.html

And also, because this is listed as Low self-discharge, I did pull the trigger at Amazon today.

Battery code this is a bit weird: Ansmann 1325-0001
But more weird is Amazon shipping estimate for the delivery in Greece.

There is a first time in anything, in this life. :)

Translation from German to English, brief product specifications.

Ideal for multimeters, remote controls, measuring devices, and metal detectors

Rechargeable. Saves resources and money
Low self-discharge, high cycle stability, fast-charging
Alternative names: 9V Block / E / 6LR61 / MN1604
2x NiMH 9V E-Block Battery 280 mAh
9V E-Block Battery 280mAh
Low Self-Discharge

Rechargeable batteries with low self-discharge, such as our 280mAh batteries, are ideal for devices that require a long time on a single charge, such as multimeters and medical devices.
Thanks to their high capacity, they are also suitable for power-intensive devices such as toys or microphones.
Due to their low self-discharge, they can last for several years in low-power devices (usable between -20°C and +65°C).

Fast-charging
The 9V block batteries are suitable for high charging and discharging currents over a long period of time.
This means they can be used continuously in power-intensive devices and recharged in fast-charging mode.
Note: Gentle charging with lower charging currents reduces the heat buildup on the batteries, which has a positive effect on their lifespan.

1 battery = 1000 disposable batteries
The production of a single disposable battery requires more than 40 times more energy than it subsequently delivers – and releases 13 kg of CO2.
Our batteries, on the other hand, can be recharged up to 1000 times, replacing a whole pile of disposable batteries.
This not only saves resources but also saves your wallet.

Battery Care Tips
Like most things, batteries are subject to wear and tear, meaning their lifespan is limited.
With proper use and good care, you can significantly extend their lifespan.

Here we have summarized the most important care instructions for our E-Block batteries (6F22) with a capacity of 280mAh:
Fully charge before use
Fully charge and discharge
Low charging currents for gentle charging
Recharge immediately after emptying
Recharge before storage and fully recharge every 12 months

So far, so good  :)

In deed, the Greek market this is flooded with no-name 9V NiMH, these are getting the worst product reviews, from the few whom dared to buy them.
Nedis, Mediarange, Camelion and several other dead horses, so to name a few.

If Ansmann specifications are true? then this might be the best ever rechargeable 9V, at this period of time.  ;)

Kiriakos which HH instrument you would characterize as dimension sensitive 9V device ?

DE5000 LCR meter this is at the top of the list.
DE208A  DMM
Times Electronics UK, all their portable calibrators.
I do not own any FLUKE 87 series, so to deliver feedback.

DEREE in Taiwan, this using a design of battery slight-in 9V battery compartment, two wide metal contacts they touch battery poles.
The battery this cannot be installed as revered, they are plastic walls at the side of battery poles.

As workaround, I am using a thin strip of fabric for optical glasses cleaning (sun glasses).
The strip of fabric this is surrounding the perimeter of battery body.
When the battery this is installed,  you can see at left and right sides the strip of fabric, I do simultaneously pull out both strips of fabric.
The 9V battery this is extracted gently,  no damage at the PET sleeve, no use of screwdrivers, no scratches no damage.

I would be interested seeing an side by side comparison, of this Ansmann 280mAh with the newest MaxE 9V 200mAh.

I am unable to understand, of why these black Ansmann cells, they are sold under a very specific distribution channel.
Also I am unable to understand, of why there is a so peculiar delivery of marketing information, for this batch.

I was unable to get MaxE 9V 200mAh from the Greek retail chain.
The Greek retail chain for Ansmann products, this seems now as inactive / dismantled / dead.
