2026 GW Instek oscilloscopes division and the hidden partneship with OWON

I did not when blind yet, regarding new product releases.

Past month news, GW Instek GDS-2000HD & GDS-2000HG Series 12-bit Oscilloscope.

But I cannot feel any excitement, this is a budget line with graphic user interface (GUI),  this be by far different, of what us old customers of GW Instek we would expect.
Old series GDS-2000A,  this is a Medium Tear Scope, and not a budget series.
I liked this series allot, as it came with Classic Tektronix (GUI).
For more than ten years, I am waiting to see a Medium Tear Scope at 12bit, made by GW Instek.

Unfortunately this newer Android based GW Instek series, this is not attractive at all.       
Under the hood, similar product design this is offered also by OWON, this is a Low-End brand.

These new GW Instek + OWON series, they have both 99.9% identical looks. 
   
Long story in short, I thought so far that GW Instek this is a serious product developer, an innovator at oscilloscopes development.
But I do not think of that any more...
GW Instek, this is transformed in to a bigger Super Market, and there is no financial investments in favor of original R&D.
