I got a lucky find today at the recycling bin, this is AC Supply Flexible Cord 220-240V.  :)

Its an 2.5m long, H05VV-F, 3X 1.0mm²
Type: GH502
Brand: GOLD MARK, of Hong-Kong (= less cheating than Mainland China).

I did measure this power cord, and it is in a great condition.  ;)
Resistance, this is at fourth digit of an 1 Ohm, four digits DMM. 

The interesting part is that I did find the certification record.
What I was not aware, is that official certification this has a life cycle of fifteen years.

Production of similar product, this tracked at 2012.
Expiration of certificate at 2017.

The fate of most AC Supply Flexible Cord, these powering Computer PC, this is them be throw away with out damage.
In person, I have less appreciation for the 3X 0.75mm²,  as I consider this 3X 1.0mm² , as more bulletproof performer, at every European application.

3X 0.75mm² = 6A when working at 10A,  this will trap plus of 3W of heat, VS the 3X 1.0mm².
Savings at power consumption, these can be also made by using better quality of power cords, something that most people does not pay much of attention.

Interesting topic, there is a gap about legal regulations.
From the other hand, for as long a cable passing electrical inspection, this is considered as good one.

The problem is that the planet its now full of DMM, and full of uneducated users. :P

This time I had a power cord this be killed at my home.   :P

Its now getting obvious, at Europe we do poor inspection at power cords and Chinese wires.
The enemy is hidden ... when these cables are at climate temperatures of 30C and above.
Cables insulation gets soften, poor made copper strands they are unable to handle even gentle mechanical pulling, and the strands they break off.

I had a power cord this feeding mains at my PC monitor screen at home, my Mom she pull the entire table so to map the floor.
The cable was partially secured (one run as coil) over a chair, I have a power splitter box there.

Eventually five kilos of mechanical stress = pulling of the cable in to opposite direction, this was enough so strands to be cut off.  :P
   
Now it makes sense .... electrical testing alone this shows half truths.
An NEW test it must be added .... and this is insulation heating at 40C and then mechanical stress tests.



Another example:  Identical incident happen at Solar panel  charged decoration lights,  one pair of wires this feeding almost 20 LED lights these spaced 15 centimeter away from its other.
If you try to relocated the lights in a warm day, nylon isolation gets soften and becomes equal to rubber,  the copper strands inside they cannot handle any mechanical stress. 
At this example, such a decoration toy, with equal appearance to Christmas tree lights, this gets permanently injured.
And this damaged goods will end up to land fields of Europe by 70% of chances.
Most Girls buying such toys from PRAKTIKER shops, they do not have RECYCLING education.
