Technical Performance Breakdown (BT 4.0 Mode) Barrot BR8654A02 = worst performer

BT 4.0 Mode this is still the standard for Bluetooth wireless data logging systems.

And I started wondering of what is the actual performance gain, between older to newer in production chips? 

Past made Holly grail of performance and stability = Broadcom BCM20702
Fresher made Holly grail of performance and stability = Realtek RTL8761B
Newest and unknown Chinese competitor = Barrot BR8654A02

I did use again AI, as this is a time saver at datasheets comparison.
And the news are not that good for Barrot = No name dongles with BT 6.0 support.
Barrot it does support modernized  BT protocols, but the chip this has inferior RX/TX radios.

Ugreen dongle, aliExpress, all no name solutions, they are all pushing Barrot.
Broadcom this is not here any more as dominant technology innovator.   
This makes Realtek the second best solution, and or as the Number one today, by speaking of true all around performance at 2026.

BT 4.0 Mode this is for work, at data logging.
I do not care of fancy BT headphones.

We, having in focus our work as first priority, we need performance due raw RF power, along quality RX/TX radios.
And Barrot, this is not delivering of what we need.   

Realtek this also winning the game, regarding operating system support.
Windows 7 up to Win 11,  and even Linux.

Summary Verdict
If your PC ecosystem revolves tightly around old Bluetooth 4.0 hardware, the Realtek RTL8761B is the top overall performer, with the Broadcom BCM20702 acting as an incredibly close second choice.
Do not purchase the Barrot BR8654A02 if legacy BT 4.0 range is your primary priority
