Today under ITTSB Europe microscope, they are American product reviews   :)

Home Depot is an official, authorized retail partner for Fluke products.

(Home Depot this blocking website access to us Europeans, and I was able to retrieve the information due AI assistance.)
Why these reviews are of importance ?
Mostly because they are FRESH:
September 11, 2023 by user Jazzer  & March 18, 2026 by user EVAN

Here is the complete, raw plain text of user reviews and feedback left for the Fluke TPAK Meter Hanging Kit on The Home Depot's platform:

Disappointed with the magnet.
I had an older version of this hanging kit for my 179 for almost ten years before the strap finally tore.
Bought this new one as a replacement and the magnet is definitely weaker.
If I bump the meter while it's hanging on the panel door, it slides right down or falls off.
Fluke is cutting corners on the magnet material.

The plastic clip is way too bulky.
Once you snap the plastic adapter into the back of the multimeter, it sticks out so much that the meter no longer fits inside my standard Fluke zipper carrying case.
I have to pry the plastic clip off every single time I want to pack up my tools at the end of the day, which defeats the whole purpose of a quick-release setup.

Way overpriced for a strap and a magnet.
Don't get me wrong, it works okay, but forty dollars for a small piece of nylon strap, a tiny magnet, and a piece of plastic is ridiculous.
You are paying 90% premium just for the Fluke logo printed on the strap.

The 9-inch strap is too short.
It works fine if you are looping it around a small 1-inch conduit or a thin bracket, but the second you try to wrap it around a larger structural beam or a thick pipe on a commercial job site, it won't reach.
They should include a longer strap options in the box.

The hook and loop material wears out fast if you work in greasy environments.
I use this in an industrial maintenance shop and the velcro stopped grabbing after about 6 months because it got filled with oil and fine dust.

The old mechanical hook systems lasted much longer.

Back in European soil again  :)
In the end of the day, both users reported that FLUKE since 2023 they offer an fresher revision this having a weak magnet.

But here we have further more users complaining event at Amazon,  OEM unbranded KITS they suffer from Weak Magnets too.   :P

Magnet too weak to hold Fluke 902FC, which is a small amp meter. Would not buy again.

Magnet is not strong enough to hang the fluke 789 on a panel

At ITTSB Europe we taking very seriously, such complains.
And I will investigate in depth of what is going on.

It seems that no one has data, of actual weight in grams, of FLUKE past successful revision of a magnet.
This detail it is a first strong proof, for making a fair comparison and evaluation of the new batch.

The Engineering Intent of the Original Fluke Design

2013-era genuine Fluke TPAK straps, the four very small holes located on the rubberized face serve highly specific mechanical and production purposes:

Air Pressure Relief / Suction Prevention: When pulling a powerful magnet flat off a smooth steel sheet metal panel, a perfect vacuum seal can form underneath a solid rubber face.
The tiny holes act as pressure relief vents, breaking the suction so you only have to overcome the linear magnetic pull force rather than a vacuum lock.

Vulcanization Tooling / Pin Balancing: During the injection-molding process, internal pins must hold the raw sintered magnet core perfectly centered within the mold while the molten rubber is injected around it.
The small holes are the physical footprint left behind by those stabilization pins.

2013-era genuine Fluke TPAK straps:

Magnetic material in use Sintered Ferrite (Ceramic) or internal NdFeB block fully encapsulated in a dense, vulcanized industrial rubber overmold.

Cloned parts using a tiny neodymium disc surrounded by cheap, hollow plastic or lightweight PVC.

Prior getting in to analysis of FLUKE TPAK Magnet it self, which this has been slightly changed three times so far.

Lets talk first of which DMM this is considered as the actual benchmark.

Fluke 289 True-RMS Industrial Logging Multimeter at 870.9 grams (28 ounces or approximately 1.92 lbs)
Fluke 28 II Rugged Digital Multimeter at 698.5 grams (1.54 lbs)
Fluke 87V MAX True-rms Digital Multimeter at 698.5 grams (with holster)

Fluke 902 FC True-RMS HVAC Clamp Meter at 419 grams (approximately 14 to 15 ounces)

Fluke CNX 3000 Wireless Multimeter at 340 grams (12 oz)
Fluke 179 True-RMS Digital Multimeter at 420 grams
Fluke 115 Field Technicians Digital Multimeter at 550 grams (19.4 ounces or approximately 1.21 lbs)
Fluke 101 Pocket Digital Multimeter at 160 grams (approximately 5.64 ounces or 0.35 lbs)

Hioki DT4282 High-Accuracy Digital Multimeter at 650 grams (22.9 ounces)
Keysight U1272A Handheld Digital Multimeter at 520 grams (approximately 1.15 lbs)

Obvious conclusion, Fluke 289 is the champion, Fluke 28 II gets second place ( I had that, its a pain walking with it, by holding it in your hands for 20 minutes).

(ZIBOO clone fails to keep in place the Fluke 289)

FLUKE TPAK Magnet the great mystery.    :)

By taking close look of photographs posted in USA, EU and Japan.
Its now obvious, Magnet appearance fine details they have accept changes over time.

If we think the Magnet as this be a coin, there is a front side and a back side.
Back side it is considered the one with the four breathing holes, this is for attaching it over metal.

Front side  it is considered the one with a singe breathing hole in the center.

REV 1.0   This has perfect looks at front side, rubber surface this is perfectly flat.
Back side this has four holes, along of and a tiny rubber pin in the center, rubber surface its not perfectly flat, its looks like as anti slip rubber.

REV 2.0   This looks having a singe breathing hole in the center, but they are also four pressure points engraved over the rubber.
Something changed at the assemply line, this sample found in the USA.
At the back side, the surface its now more flat, instead of a protruding rubber pin, there is now a round pressure point in the center.

REV 3.0 I succeed finding a sample in UK, a photograph of only the back side, indeed other than the breathing holes, the rubber surface this appears totally flat.
The rubber surface simile to 1000 grid of sand paper.
While older revisions these was having rubber this simile to 80 grid of sand paper.

Translation please ..
The older design it was retaining gripping force, even when the rubber this was somewhat dirty.
The new design, this requiring to be cleaned constantly, any kind of dirt over it, and especially a single drop of lubricant, this will make it feel slippery.

In summary, Its possible that FLUKE did not cheated at strong magnet manufacturing, the poor performance this might have to do with the glossy rubber surface in the latest revision.  :P

Final thoughts ...

FLUKE 167X MAG GRIP magnetic suspension accessory, this is a two magnets KIT.
Fluke using it at their wider in dimensions installation testers.

At left and right ends, there is a single nylon strap, this terminates to a magnet.
Most heavy weight installation tester this is at 1600 grams ( 1.6 kg (3.5 lb).

1600 grams divided by two =  800 grams of lifting power per side.
Therefore the Fluke 289 at 870 grams this getting closer to Maximum of what a single Magnetic can handle.

While the 28II at 698.5 grams, this it should feel as more secure when hanging. ;D

As closure at my analysis, I will mention the obvious mathematical statistics conclusion.
Owners of HH DMM these be under the 600 grams weight limit, they will never raise an complain.  :)

But here comes in to play, the manufacturing style of the rubber surface.
Is this full of porous and soft, or hard and glossy?  :P
