The actual title of this article, this is a bit misleading, the purpose of this article, this is helping professionals at electronics repairs.

In focus this is Battery Snap clip for PP3 9V Battery.

I am after to create a special testing harness (four wires) specifically for testing PP3 9V NiMH and alkaline.
The concept is simple, I am now finalizing details, at my computer controlled battery discharge automated system.
And my goal, this is of me discovering the best ever Rigid Battery Snap clip ( on planet earth) so to use it at my project. 

For text savings, I will use the PP3 clip as sort description.

Chapter number one, how to repair a PP3 clip

By assuming that you have a factory made, PP3 clip, and the hexagonal connector this is lost tension.
The easy repair this involves the use of an 8mm socket wrench.
This will gently reform the hexagon shape. 
Just cover the PP3 clip with the 8mm socket wrench, and then remove the socket wrench.

For best results, 8mm socket wrench this must be as good as new.
(This socket wrench idea, it cannot help square shape of PP3 clip)

PP3 clip hexagonal connector, this is very sensitive at it top end, its side of the hexagon this terminates at a slightly curved contact area.
The use of pliers as repair tool, for recovery of hexagon shape, this will deform this slightly curved contact area, and this PP3 Clip will be permanently damaged.

Chapter number two, how to avoid damaging a PP3 clip with your soldering iron

At the manufacturing of PP3 clip, there is a step of hardening of the formed metal.
Then this gains the property of a tight Snap clip.
This process involves heating and a fast cool down.

Any attempt at soldering a wire at the back of such PP3 clip, this instantly steal away the property of the hardening.
Such a PP3 clip it might work for two or three times,  and then the electrical connection it will start having severe problems.   

The damage due the soldering iron, this is unrecoverable, and entire battery clip this must replaced by a new.

Approximately ten years ago, I did order Battery Snap clip from eBay, a pack of 20.
The one appearing at my photographs, as bright blue they are made by ACE SOUND ENTERPRISE.

It is very unfortunately, that in European Union, we can only find importers / distributors.
A number of these Germany based distributors, they act as common thieves, by taking advantage the market of musical instruments.

Taiwanese Snap clip this is sold in Greece for 0.30 cents retail with VAT, and in Germany at e-shop for musicians, they sell this for 2.57 Euro its one.
