3D printed spare parts for Keysight U1272A DMM housing - and second thoughts

Here we have an example from a hobbyist, he got an Keysight U1272A for 120$, and the battery cover this was missing.
He did find an first solution due 3D printing, of such a part = problem solved.

I do not have much of faith at 3D printed parts.

Here it comes the second second thoughts section.
The original battery cover for U1272A DMM, this is widely available to order due authorized Keysight distributors.
It is a low cost spare part.

The original part, it will not only make the DMM complete again, but it will restore it IP54 ingress protection rating.
Water Protection and Dust Protection.

This sum of protections, it will keep safe DMM electronics, and even the batteries, they are staying protected from humidity.
Keysight U1272A this is still a Top Dog DMM, this requiring respect, and care.

Getting a used U1272A for cheap, this is a very rare opportunity at 2026.
The use of genuine spare part, this will solve the problem, and it will further increase it retail value even as used.
