Flashing Tektronix DMM4040 with Fluke 8846 firmware this is a very bad idea.

There is out there an upload of an ancient Fluke 8846 firmware.
Fluke 8845 / 8846 firmware, this includes mainly a software fix, this relative to networking connectivity.
Fluke solved these issues up to 2010, since then there is no newer firmware.
Some one with Tek DMM4040, he dared to load Fluke 8846 firmware.
In the positive side of things :The DMM survived, and it was not permanently damaged.
In the negative side of things :DMM4040 this does not have any calibration data for the unlocked functions.
Having unlocked functions with out calibration data, this is useless.
All TEK 4040 / 4050 manufactured since 2013 and after, they do include FLUKE firmware fix for networking.
And even newer minor fixes, that we are unaware.
These FLUKE or TEK DMM, they use Linux based OS.
FLUKE has no reason to fix, basic software code of major product functions.
They did that prior releasing these products in the market.
FLUKE never needed to fix due firmware update, bugs relative to DMM measuring functions.
In conclusion, Fluke 8846 firmware no matter it revision, this solves minor issues relative to
Automated Measuring Systems Networking.
