On eBay there is all sort of tools, some of them you can find them under weird descriptions. 

For my needs this one did the trick very well.
Do not be fooled by the size, it is amazingly powerful, and the combination of those two factors, this made me to buy it.

It does perfect work about heat shrink tubes, even for large ones in diameter.
And also works well about preheating the PCB of many layers, so I to unsolder then large electrolytic capacitors, even with a common soldering iron. 

It does not come cheaply, but it does work great, I got it in August 2010, up to date it still does a good job, it is not a toy. 

In the third picture there is one personal addition, one metallic clip this now serves as a hanger.

This little tool still going strong at 2025.

At the year 2024 this stopped working, there is inside a thermal fuse, if this ever blown?  There is an easy repair for the experts, just replace this thermal fuse.

I do like this tool allot, the heating element this proved to be as immortal, plastic housing this does not melt, plastic housing this does not decompose.
This is one of the very few Made in China tools, that it is build to last in time.
