The specific equipment review forced me to research many sources of information's so to become capable even to scratch the surface of this topic.

Feel free to share your thoughts about the specific equipment.

Regarding pricing in Europe were close to 300EUR the last time that I checked.

So for controlling the AFG. Has it some strange specific commands or does it use standard SCPI commands (should be mentioned in the manual if it's SCPI I guess). You could easily control it within Labview via RS232 or write your own Code...
I am a bit dissapointed that it hasn't a USB control, as you need a converter with most PC's today....not that modern. Anyway...keeping RS232 onboard is a great option for older Systems.

About the Textfile you mentioned. Is it really a TXT or is it a CSV file? I know from my siglent that it uses csv and actually it can easily be edited with excel if you want.....or Matlab or R or whatever.... So CSV or TXT is a great benefit in my opinion!

Also the PWM of the squarewave is fine. I was very disaponited when I realized that my Siglent SDG-1025 is only capable of 20-80% Dutycycle below 10MHz, 40-60% from 10 to 20MHz and only fixed 50% above 20MHz. Well, my Agilent Handheld DMM has more options regarding the Dutycycle.... for a function gen that's ridiculous....

....well, but I do like the Siglent apart from that and the fan noise (not much of a deal for me as I like Noise.....)

It has no external clocksource and trigger if I see right? Well, but I do  like the rear outputs.

Over all this product looks very complete to my eyes.
What possibly matter most other than basic features in such equipment, is it performance exclusively in Arbitrary waveforms.
If you are very demanding in the frequency range above of 700kHz , you better seek for a product of much higher price point.

Better equipment than TFG-3620E are in a pricing of 500 to 2500 EUR.
What TFG-3620E is offering is professional level build quality, and performance level usable in most common applications.
