How to detect FAKE labeled Samsung Galaxy S5 2800mAh EB-BG900BBE

This must be the most recent Made in China scam aiming people trying to get 2800mAh EB-BG900BBE or similar for their Samsung smartphone.

The scammers baptize old production cells ( 2.5 years old ) as current production by simply printing a new label.
But if you dare using a sharp knife and remove the fake label, then you will come across the original laser printing which this speaks the truth.

EBay Team reviewed my report against this seller and this is their reply (attached picture) .

I was forced to go all the way about receiving official confirmation from eBay that this seller violated eBay policies, because I did receive threatening message of Law action against my Blog about the specific topic.

I got scammed again.

Blister of 2020 and battery inside of December 2008 Week 51 of 2008 
100% disappointment again, and I lost 7.50EUR so to send the garbage back to France.

I got my refund from France.

But by biggest disappointment this is SAMSUNG SDI small batteries division, they never get back to me after 10 days, so them to confirm if this batch it is authentic or not.
This is now Crystal clear example of how much SAMSUNG cares, for consumer related issues.

Item delivered 30 June 2026 in Greece.

You will receive genuine battery production 2019 or fresher. 

And I received a battery with S/N: AA1G630S/2-B
And after AI analysis ...
G= 2016
6= JUNE
30= DAY OF MONTH
EB-BG900BBE production and assemply CHINA

The battery was manufactured on June 30, 2016

AI this was correct at the fact that return request this is a painful nail for any smart-ass cheater out there.   

When thinking batteries, Germany this is a large market, stock this circulates and gets renewed faster.
I thought that by the numbers, due shopping from Germany, I have greater chances receiving fresher stock. 
But I succeed or the mother fate did it, I got five months younger battery, than my genuine cell year 2015 production, this is now in use up to date.

And or the NEW unused battery this has identical manufacturing year with my old battery.
AI words There is no newer production of EB-BG900BBE and similar since 2016.
Any printing of fresher date = Poor made clone of such a battery. 

I might need to feel now as somewhat lucky, I got excellent quality of ancient stock, and not any much worst newer clone.

This must be my lucky day.   

I found identical Samsung battery of Korean production.
With close to identical S/N  plus printed the production date.   (2015)

Diving is to details about ICP544382A actual Samsung SDI.Co.,Ltd product, at the year 2014, this was a confidential path.

Within a relic of Samsung SDI datasheet, they are stored the electrical specifications of the widely known as EB-BG900BBE.
Why this cell appears as special?  Because of it 4.4V charging voltage that is higher than regular cells.
From the entire datasheet I found only a single page, this having information's which I all ready know.

An Wider manual web search this gave and another clue, actual Max Charging Voltage this is 4.5V 

Samsung SDI.Co.,Ltd this played a game here,  ICP544382A baseline specifications, they were shared at self owned Samsung factories,  Korea, China, Vietnam.

New added significant information, this is environmental temperature range for charging, starting from minus 5C up to 55C.   
This is significant information, and for the ones thinking wireless charging heat, as Samsung this considers 50C as non critical temperature.
While as Max is set this 55C limit.
In conclusion 45~55C its not tolerable range for naked hands, but this battery its designed to tolerate it.
Mobile phones they should also operate in Africa, Arabia and in many more hot climates. 

Discharging range: minus 20C up to 55C, Good for Russia and north pole.    


Samsung SDI Note: If the battery is stored at ex-factory condition, 50~60% state of charge, for a year,  capacity recovery range is over 80%. 
100% = 2800 mAh
90% = 2520 mAh
85% = 2380 mAh
80% = 2240 mAh
75% =  2100 mAh
70% = 1960 mAh

I would consider it as a great day for me, if by a miracle I was able to receive a GOOD Working battery for my phone.

But the problem remains, the Chinese business model did not changed even after seven years.
Still Its a bit weird  , they asked first Ebay team to engage.
I were presented as a scammer and also as a potential thieve, of their ancient Chinese treasure. 

The system worked once again, European customer protection worked, I will never bother engaging with this shop Ever.
