Keysight June 2024 Discontinued entire Remote Link Bluetooth DMM accessories

I have just receive an email from Keysight, U1177A Infrared (IR)-to-Bluetooth® Adapter this has today the status of obsolete.

At 2011 and with the beginning of production of U1272A HH DMM,  Agilent / Keysight presented U1177A Infrared (IR)-to-Bluetooth® Adapter, as wireless solution for data-logging to PC.

In a later time, they released, U1115A Remote Logging Display is a dedicated display that allows you to view measurements safely from an extended range of up to 100 meters
At that period they also released U1117A IR To Bluetooth® Adapter (Class 1)  100m range

Today 20 June 2024,
U1115A Remote Logging Display
U1177A Infrared (IR)-to-Bluetooth® Adapter 10m range
U1117A IR To Bluetooth® Adapter (Class 1)  100m range

All products are classified as Discontinued and Obsolete.    


All these Bluetooth® Adapter was made for Keysight U1210, U1230, U1240, U1250, U1270, and U1280 Series handheld multimeters and U1450 / 60 series insulation resistance tester for remote monitoring and data logging.

Here is my own thoughts, back in time Agilent / Keysight thought Remote Link  product series ( Remote Logging Display + Bluetooth® Adapter) this to become another one product to assist company profitability.
Unfortunately for them, this 100M range display and 100M adapter, they came out as extremely overpriced.
Neither the 10M range U1177A Infrared (IR)-to-Bluetooth® Adapter, this was at sweet price when was on sale at 65 Euro seven years ago.
In the past 5 years Agilent / Keysight boosted all retail prices by more than 35%.

At that salty pricing, its not a surprise to me that demand this vanished, and now Keysight its in a constant route at abandoning HH DMM series.

Here I have an interesting find to share.   

Nowadays that Google search has less active links to scan relative to U1177A, due the fact that relative sales listings they get removed.

Today's search results, they bring to the light, an article / interview relative to Developers team, of this Agilent Wireless Connectivity Solution. ( Posted on March 11, 2013 )

Due Copyrights, I will simply share a photograph of the developers team and their names.
Their past made work it did become an inspiration, even for Agilent competitors.
But no one succeed to do such a good job as they did !!

The Agilent Mobile Meter and Mobile Logger apps have now became the key elements of the Agilent’s Wireless Remote Connectivity (WRC) solution, of which the U1177A Bluetooth adapter is part.
