Every decent designed crimping tool, this comes with a crimping pressure adjustment screw.

The adjusting range, this is not detailed explained by anyone of such tools manufacturers (tool makers).

In theory, when the user of the tool, him detects signs of over-crimping, he should be alerted and to readjust crimping pressure adjustment screw.

Long story in short version, crimping pressure adjustment, this is more relative to metal hardness of its one crimp connector.
Worldwide they are some standards these relative to expected hardness of an ferrules crimp connector, and according to these, it is Set the Zero point adjustment screw setting.

Manufacturing of crimp connectors, this is another large chapter.
There is a list of well known and trusted factories, and also several anonymous / no name sources of such products.

Best settings?
Prior thinking of tool settings, you need to make another significant choice as first.
You need to decide about a permanent source/brand that you will permanently use as your only supplier.

For example, I am using a Greek supplier/ importer, this selling crimp connectors, of Taiwanese origin.
I get crimp connectors, at a pack of 100 pieces/ per product code.
Mechanical specifications of these crimp connector, they are in agreement, with my tool and it Zero point adjustment.

Note: If I ever need to adjust the tool, this would be because this will have perform thousands of crimps, and this now needs maintenance, and a minor adjustment.
If you detect signs of over-crimping at a NEW and unused tool?   This translates that your crimp connectors they are equal to trash.
