Since the moment that I ordered my first set of
TL2X4W-PTII (Fluke Calibration design, Pomona Electronics manufacturing), I started investigating quality control of Gold plated test leads.
I do not even remember of how I got one pair of Gold plated
Amprobe MTL-90B (Made in USA) (Pomona Electronics?).
Even so I do remember that these failed as most FLUKE test leads do at wire strain relief, with out misusing them.
I am assuming that these discontinued Amprobe MTL-90B this is work of Pomona.
Amprobe this does not offer anymore anything Gold plated.
The second contender, this is
BRYMEN BL21S2-T4SC, Gold plated test leads 2mm tip.
At my fist test, they shown as winner at
Gold plated surface conductivity.
Gold plated surface conductivity Test HIOKI RM3542A resistance meter.
Measuring leads are placed at 10mm distance from its other over the 2mm round tip.
All tips are cleaned with 90% clean isopropyl alcohol.
The one measuring lower, this wins a Cuban cigar.
FLUKE TL2X4W-PTII, this is still on shipping.
So I tested all ready at 20C room temperature the other two.
Up to date, Brymen this is close to get one Cuban cigar.
But if Pomona Electronics this delivers to FLUKE A grade of materials ? and B grade of materials at Amprobe?
Then, they are still chances for FLUKE, so this to Win in the end.
This is an interesting benchmark, between USA and Taiwan, and of whom delivers grade A Gold plating over test leads.
