Monitoring Opened
TCP/IP network ports connections, this is first step of research at system security for windows system administrators.
Since 20 years ago, I am using
CurrPorts utility, so to check my PC workstation and any network ports connections, which a third party software it might opens by it self.
I had old
CurrPorts version of the year 2007, and it had issues at identifying the name and source of opened ports.
NEW CurrPorts v2.80 (2026), this has newer database, opened TCP ports and the software which open them, this is now by far more detailed.
I have stopped using anonymous software, in the past 20 years.
The only suspect this days is Firefox that I do frequently update.
Firefox is trusted, but several Plug-in for it, they should always be inspected if they sabotage my privacy.
I have in full control of my workstation PC, regarding security this is a fortress, as I am in full control of Windows 7 Pro operating system.
In conclusion, newest CurrPorts v2.80, this is all that you need, if you are skilled at investigating Networking traffic at windows PC.
