Today I was browsing Gossen Metrawatt GmbH
website.
Test leads section.
We are now at the second decade of which, that
KS 17-2 standard test leads set, this is shipped with all of their digital DMM.
According to
GM philosophy, standard test leads this is something to be used for voltage and current measurements.
They have adopt 4mm banana system at both ends.
The probe has a tip over the 4mm banana, this will assist at voltage measurements, and or at passive components measurement.
The cables are
16A capable, but the insulation this is always
PVC.
For weird people whom like to have 2mm tip test leads,
GM also has such an offering, but
they do not list any AC/DC current specifications.
GM also have large alligator clips and hook clips, all based at 4mm banana system.
The German concept for multimeter test leads a) We use 4mm banana system everywhere.
b) 2mm probe tips for voltage only.
c) Silicone wires this is a
forbidden word.
I have nothing against
GM, I am writing this article so to enlighten my readers, that
GM did nothing to update their test leads portfolio with modern materials and ideas.
